Once we taste this lovely spread, it’s difficult to stop! A few years ago, after we got our high-speed blender, I saw how easy it was to make our own nut or seed spread. The great part is that we can create any kind of spread, by adding different ingredients.
This one is made of toasted almonds, to intensify their flavor, so it’s not raw. Even if we didn’t toast the almonds, it would still be considered “cooked”, because of the heat that comes from the machine, after a couple of minutes of using it at a high speed.
If we want it raw, we may soak the almonds first (to break the acids), then we can dehydrate them (to give them back its crunchiness) and then we may grind them slowly in a food processor. It won’t be as fast as the other way, but we definitively have a more genuine result.
Well, for now, let’s make it the quick way 🙂
- 320g of organic almonds
- 1 tsp of sea salt
Wash the almonds and toast them in the oven, at 356ºF/180ºC, for about 10-12 minutes (if you don’t wash the almonds, it will take less than 10 minutes to toast, as they are dry).
Once they are ready, blend them in a high-speed blender until they become creamy/liquid, or with any other consistency that you like, and add the salt.
Enjoy your delicious work of art!
