We recently moved from Lisbon to Viana do Castelo, in the north of Portugal. We both had been to this city before, but to live here is completely different. From our perspective, I can tell you that we are living a complete fairy tale! Now we definitely know why we chose this place to live, it perfectly resonates with us.
We ended up attracting a lovely small house with a garden right in downtown, two bicycles at the door, a river and a hill next to it, a very close beach and many charming seagulls flying over our heads. When we think the scenario can’t get better, the old beautiful architecture, the smiling people, the stars at night and the sun rising up in the sky really enchant us even more. This city is also en route for foreigners, as it is very close to Spain, especially to Santiago de Compostela, which is known as the destiny of so many pilgrims. It feels good breathing their adventurous spirit.
One of the first things we did was looking for grocery stores with fresh fruits and vegetables. We found out that there are plenty of them, even organic is easy to find and with enough diversity to satisfy us. Vasco is also preparing our garden in order to grow whatever we feel like eating in a more natural state. To get inspired, we visited an organic farm nearby where we saw how they cultivate berries and all kinds of herbs. Here are the lovely arugula and the box of strawberries we brought, not so full anymore, eh eh.
We still love our fruits and salads. We are eating everything raw, except for the steamed sweet potato, that seems to be a very close friend of mine during the last month. I just can’t have enough of it. We are also having probiotic fermented vegetables, that I regularly prepare. We will publish a recipe for you to see how easy and great it is. The juicy fruits, the green leaves, the crunchy vegetables, the homemade sprouts, the seeds, and the nuts are still sacred to us.
See you in our next post, very soon we hope! We send you high vibrations and lots of fulfilled wishes.
